The contract will see Watpac clean the site of vegetation and stockpiled soil to allow the commencement of mining operations at the Majestic deposit followed by activities at the Imperial deposit.

According to the company, a total of 6.4 million bank cubic metres of ore and waste will be mined over a period of 25 months, with Watpac to also provide drill and blast services on site.

Watpac Managing Director Martin Monro said the Group was delighted to have been given the opportunity to help Silver Lake commence mining at the Imperial/Majestic project site.

“This is another significant mining project the Watpac Civil & Mining business will be delivering in Western Australia and we are proud to be working with Silver Lake Resources as they commence operations at these gold deposits,” Mr Mono said.

“Our focus has remained on quality outcomes for our Civil & Mining clients and this project is an important addition to our existing portfolio of work.”

Watpac General Manager Civil & Mining, Russell Hall, said the company has allocated a workforce of 50 to work on the project.

“The team’s track record on delivering innovative and high quality projects is what sets our business apart and we look forward to starting on sit in the coming weeks,” he said.
