The grant has been provided under the Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme which is run by the Department of Mines and Petroleum.

Back in September, Ram Resources announced that it had secured the right to acquire an 80% interest in the West Kimberley Project.

Last week, the company began planning a drilling program after survey work identified three strong bedrock conductors in a magnetic intensity zone known to host nickel mineralisation southeast of Buxton Resources’ Magic nickel-copper project.

The awarded grant will help fund the drilling program.

“The recent survey results highlight the significant prospectivity of our West Kimberley project,” said Ram Resources Managing Director Bill Guy in an ASX Announcement.

“In light of these results, we believe the drilling program being designed for next season has the potential to define the West Kimberley Region as Australia’s newest nickel exploration epi centre.”
